Head over to the AFL Widget page to get the latest version.

Version 1.5.1 introduces the option of selecting between 3 different sources for ladder data:

This is due to the fact that the AFL keeps changing their website faster than I can fix the widget!

Sportal.com.au is the default for now because the AFL site isn’t showing any ladder data as of 26/03/07, but it might come back on line one day.

Having 2 or 3 different sources for the ladder data makes it less likely that the widget will break if one of the sites decides to change format because it is unlikely that all the sites will change at the same time.

So let me know if there are any problems with the new widget, once again, it may need tweaking once the season starts later this week!

  1. Thanks for your effort in producing the AFL widget which I use throughout the season. To think even in the USA you can be frustrated by the “bloody AFL”! Every day, in some new way, they manage to frustrate us here in Victoria – but not enough to make me emigrate.

  2. Thanks for the AFL widget mate. good form. (2 years n a row nowi ve been using your widget.) 🙂

  3. Thanks heaps for the work on the widget, I dabble in this stuff myself and I hate how Australian websites refuse to give 3rd party developers any easy way to use their information. Good moves on the 3 sources, as I just noticed that the FinalSiren.com one doesn’t work properly anymore cause no doubt they’ve changed their format again!!

    Cheers mate.
